WP10000
Workpackage WP10000 and its subworkpackages sWP10100, sWP10200, sWP10300, sWP10400, and sWP10500 are in charge of data acquisition and control
WP10000, led by INAF, coordinates the development of data acquisition and control systems in compliance with general project methodology, providing feedback to the project system engineering WP03000 and managing WP01000. It defines the technical requirements for the data acquisition and control from the SRD (WP02000). It collaborates (together with WP03000) in the interfaces definition between the control and telescope subsystems. It defines interfaces among different control subsystems. It also contributes to the general project plan and financial budget (data acquisition and control part).
The different subworkpackages provide periodically information to the sWP10000. Their main tasks are to:
- define the alternatives of their subsystems in phase I of the conceptual design study,
- lead the trade-off analysis of design alternatives in phase II,
- specify the design and lead the analysis corresponding for the selected solution in phase III.
- sWP10100, led by INAF, establishes a general strategy for data flow, visualization, storage and distribution. It contributes to design network/communication protocol. Its final outputs are the instrument interface definition and a conceptual design of data flow, display and storage. Other sWP10100 participants are MPG and QUB.
- sWP10200, led by INAF, provides the telecope control and monitoring. Other sWP10200 participant is UToV.
- sWP10300, led by INAF, defines instruments control and monitoring. It determines communication protocols and synchronization signals. It contributes to design the network/communication protocol. Other sWP10300 participants are IAC and THEMIS.
- sWP10400, led by UU, makes dome control and monitoring. It makes the design of the control layout, power electronics, monitoring (i.e dome parameters, environmental conditions inside and outside the dome), security system of the dome. It contributes to design the network/communication protocol.
- sWP10500, led by UPS, establishes a general strategy for database generation and handling. It contributes to design the network/communication protocol. Other sWP10400 participant is OBSPAR.
