SPIE Astronomical Telescopes + Instrumentation 2024

The SPIE Astronomical Telescopes + Instrumentation symposium is among the foremost global gatherings for astronomical optics and photonics. From 16-21 June 2024, engineers, scientists, students, and industry leaders have gathered in Yokohama, Japan, to celebrate this event and share their scientific advancements related to light-based technologies.

The European Solar Telescope was also present at the meeting, with the participation of several engineers and scientists from the EST Project Office, who presented the latest technical advancements of the project through a series of talks and posters. The preliminary design of the telescope, the status of its control system, and the analysis of its local seeing were among the topics discussed.
