Location: Astronomical Observatory of the University of Wrocklaw, Bialkow (Poland)
Owner: University of Wroclaw
Astrophysical observations have been carried out in the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Wroclaw since the early 1890s. At the end of the 20th century, a new pavilion was built for the coronograph with a lens of 53 cm diameter, manufactured in the USSR.
A characteristic feature of the coronograph pavilion is a large sliding roof weighing 17 tons and a length of 15 m, revealing the entire instrument within 4 minutes, which minimizes the impact of the "pavilion effect" on the image quality. In the pavilion, there are observation rooms, a spectrograph room, a darkroom, and a workshop.
