The Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (AISAS) organised the first screening of the documentary “Reaching for the Sun” for the Slovak public. The premiere took place on May 10, 2022 at the main lecture hall of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava.
The event was attended by a large audience, including the President of SAS, Prof. Pavol Šajgalík, the Director of AISAS, Dr. Peter Gömöry, other SAS representatives, Ambassador Ms. Lorea Arribalzaga Ceballos from Spain, Ambassador Ms. Catherine Flumiani from Italy and Attaché for Scientific and Academic Cooperation of the French Embassy in Bratislava, Mr. Yan Pautrat.
The Slovak students who participated in the EST competition "The Sun at a glance" were invited to attend the premiere and many of them travelled to Bratislava with their teachers to watch the documentary. They took the opportunity to talk with Prof. Manuel Collados and Dr. Luis Bellot about the EST project and their contribution to the EST Solarpedia.
